Locksmith Community Fund Scholarship
PURPOSE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Locksmith Community Fund Scholarship provides financial assistance to locksmiths and apprentices who demonstrate financial need. The goal is to further careers in traditional or automotive locksmithing through accredited training and education.
ELIGIBILITY
• Open to current locksmiths or locksmith apprentices actively employed by a locksmith company.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need for educational assistance.
• Scholarships apply only to traditional or automotive locksmithing training.
ACCREDITATION & ELIGIBLE PROGRAMS
• Recognized providers include ALOA (or IAAL) and established regional associations such as Yankee Security and NCLA.
• A published list of approved programs will be maintained: Locksmith Pro Academy, ALOA, IAAL, Yankee Security, NCLA, SCLA, ALA, GPLA, TLA.
• Non-listed programs may be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis.
COVERED EXPENSES
• Tuition for approved classes or training.
• Flat per diem for meals and beverages (maximum $75/day, excludes alcohol, class days only).
• Hotel: up to $200/night, maximum 3 nights.
• Airfare: economy class, maximum $500.
• Ground transportation: up to $150/trip.
• One scholarship award per applicant every 3 years.
APPLICATION & DOCUMENTATION
• Completed Scholarship Application Form.
• Proof of financial need (tax return, pay stub, W2, or 1099).
• Minimum of one letter of recommendation from within the locksmith industry (additional letters will
strengthen the application).
• Proof of enrollment or acceptance required.
• Funds will be paid directly to the training institution only.
SELECTION & REVIEW PROCESS
• Applications must be submitted by the end of the year.
• Scholarships are awarded January 31st.
• Selection based on financial need, recommendations, and application strength.
• Reviews are fully open (not blind).
POST-AWARD EXPECTATIONS
• Recipients must provide proof of course completion.
• Recipients must provide a testimonial or summary of how the scholarship helped.
• If a recipient drops out or fails to attend, travel expenses (flight, hotel, per diem, car) are not
reimbursable.
